Overall     31/40

The highly sought after appeal of dining in one of Sydney’s newest – most hip venues never shy’s away from my mind, so with the bar set high I indulged without disappointment.

The décor was refreshingly new in style and appeal; something that is drastically lost in the numerously similar clinical bars and restaurants that make up Sydney. Staff were also numerous, attentive and charming, thus ensuring my glass was topped and reinforcing the extensive wine menu.

The meal was basic, yet well prepared – in fact with the vast selection of beef on the menu, I found it difficult to surpass the Venison Loin served over beetroot and tomato puree. Sides were certainly a necessary accompaniment to any main.

Overall I found that the Mad Cow pushes the boundaries of upmarket dining meets steakhouse with a favourable lean toward simple food done well – Just don’t leave your wallet at home!
